One of the very first Woodshop projects we couldn’t wait to collaborate on was a mirror constructed entirely out of retired Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel Staves. This one is personally special to us and Woodshop artisan Jason Cohen. A labor of love, creative innovation, and passionate design that resulted in an incredibly unique piece of practical art.
Designed in a charming sunburst style, with alternating and staggered lengths of unique, genuine Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel staves, the mirror reflects complexity, depth, and movement. Displaying the beauty hidden within the barrel, the Staveburst Mirror has an Art Deco vibe that incorporates the barrel staves in a gorgeous mid-century modern-inspired design.
Resembling the rays of Kentucky sunshine, so necessary for developing the character of our family’s bourbon, bursting through with signature beauty and natural geometrical design, it is a story that spans decades and reflects the legacy, dedication, artistry, craftsmanship, and the bourbon that represents it all. Just as no two barrel staves are alike, each mirror is entirely unique and individually handcrafted by Jason Cohen in our Pappy & Company Woodshop.
