What We're Sipping in November

November means it’s holiday entertaining season. We are warming up by the fire, spending more time indoors and keeping things toasty with our favorite seasonal cocktails as the temperatures drop. This month’s cocktail recipe combines some of our favorite flavors in unexpected ways. The Manhattan is a longstanding cocktail classic, and this maple inspired version highlights the best of autumn’s fall flavors with hints of apricot and maple syrup.

Our in house mixologist and cocktail connoisseur, Kyle Higgins, says that hechose an Apricot Liqueur made by Rothman & Winter to enhance the fall flavors that he enjoys with maple as well. This recipe has the basic Manhattan flavors of Rye Whiskey, Carpano Italian Vermouth with Angostura Bitters; but by cutting back a bit on the Vermouth, it makes some room for the Barrel Aged Maple Syrup and by adding the Apricot, the recipe captures the aromatics and brings a bit of dimension to the classic drink. The bit of fruit and maple make for a mouthwatering version of our favorite Whiskey Based Cocktail. The charred lemon adds another inviting aroma that compliments the array of fall flavors.

We think you’re in for a fall favorite that will make your heart warm as the season cools.

Maple Manhattan:

  • .75 ounce Carpano di Antica
  • .25 ounce Pappy & Company Barrel Aged Maple Syrup
  • .5 ounce Apricot Liqueur
