What’s in a name? Something as simple as what you see is what you get? In the case of Good Folks Coffee from Louisville, KY, the answer is a resounding yes. More accurately, it's good coffee & Good folks, but we adhere to the argument that it takes good folks to make good coffee, and make it they do.
We began partnering with Good Folks Coffee in 2019. A relationship that started with a simple walk down the street in the bustling community of artisans, creatives, and burgeoning talent in the revitalized corner of downtown Louisville, known as NuLu, where Pappy & Company's headquarters are located, alongside a bevy of independent boutiques, charming hotels, and retro-inspired restaurants and bars.
Perhaps drawn in by the name, the wafting and inviting notes of coffee, or simply because we were feeling neighborly, we knocked on the door, and we are so glad we did. We met the small team who founded Good Folks Coffee in 2010 and instantly connected over a shared story of dedication, passion, and the pursuit of the finest coffee in the world.
Together, we crafted our Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel-Aged Coffee, a melodious combination of rich, single-origin Guatemalan coffee beans (if you feel like you can practically taste and smell those words, you are not alone), aged in our retired Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrels. Producing a deeply rich, yet invitingly mellow flavor with blending notes of caramel, vanilla, an earthy sweetness, and an unbelievably inviting aroma.
We later introduced a fine gourmet treat that combines the flavors of our Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel-Aged Coffeewith traditional European-style chocolate. The resulting Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel Aged Nib Brittle offers nibs of Pappy Van Winkle bourbon Barrel-Aged coffee nibs, layered with delectable old-fashioned chocolate from Olive & Sinclair —a true feast for the senses.
As we returned time and again to the idea of an espresso elixir with bold, rich, and subtly sweet flavors, there was only one place to start. Bringing together Good Folks Coffee and Bittermilkwas the only way we could, or would, attempt to concoct the perfect Espresso Elixir. From an idea that has been percolating for years, to our Signature Pappy & Company Coupe glass, it’s time to shake things up at your home bar.
Rich, creamy, and flavorful, it is exactly what you want in an espresso elixir. Specifically crafted to make cold brew as well as the espresso martini of our dreams, our Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel-Aged Espresso Elixir can also be enjoyed poured over ice cream as a decadent treat.
