As part of our mission to honor the legacyand heritage of Pappy Van Winkle, Pappy & Company hosts four annual Bourbon for Good™ Sweepstakes. Our final Bourbon for Good™ sweepstakes of the year is usually a personal one. While Bourbon for Good™ was initially founded with the desire to turn the demand for our family’s iconic bourbon into support for charitable pursuits, we have been blown away by our ability to expand the reach and breadth of our philanthropicsupport. We are honored to have supported a variety of organizations over the years and to continue working with some of our regular partners.

By offering a bottle from our own personal Van Winkle Family collection, we can raise funds for a non-profit of our choice four times a year. Over the years, we have worked to streamline our process to concentrate our efforts and do the most good we can, while highlighting the work of non-profit organizations whose missions align with our charitable goals and areas of focus. While these selected areas of focus hold personal connections to our family, we’ve also been able to pivot in real time to address natural disasters at home and abroad that require immediate attention and resources. We’ve supported flood relief in our home state of Kentucky, and nearby Nashville, wildfire devastation in California, humanitarian efforts in the war in Ukraine, and hurricane relief, among others.

Yet each year, for our final sweepstakes, we have focused on a cause close to home. As we ready ourselves to celebrate the joys of the holiday seasonand prepare to delight in the time of togetherness, most of which is spent around a table, sharing our favorite Van Winkle family recipes, it is never lost on us the far-reaching impact of food insecurity that plagues so many families, here and all over the country and world.

While we celebrate holiday traditions and prepare holiday feastsand our favorite family recipes, we know that many families are struggling to simply put food on the table. So we are once again partnering with Dare to Careto support their incredibly essential work in providing meals, support, and programs that provide resources to those in Kentuckiana who most need them.

While we have worked closely with Dare to Care for years —volunteering in person with our team and through Bourbon for Good™ —we are nevertheless still shocked to hear the staggering statistics each time. 1 in 7 adults and 1 in 5 children in our region are struggling with food insecurity. Dare to Care provides, on average, over 22 million meals a year to these families, children, and adults in need. They are able to convert $1 in donated funds into 2 meals for our most vulnerable neighbors.
