Fall Cocktail: Bourbon Pumpkin Smash

Welcome Fall! We have to admit it, we can't quite help ourselves from being swept up in the pumpkin madness that takes over this time of year! So why bother - we say embrace the pumpkin, or in this case "smash it!" 

Our Bourbon Barrel-Aged Maple Syrup really shines in fall recipes and it is the perfect addition to the pumpkin spice syrup that truly makes this cocktail a smash hit! 

Recipe makes 2 cocktails. We recommend serving in our Pappy & Company Rocks Glasses

This cocktail combines all of the things we love about fall and it is the perfect way to welcome the season!

Ingredients For This Recipe:

  1. 3 ounces bourbon 
  2. 1.5 ounces Pumpkin Spice Syrup* (see below)
  3. 1/2 ounce lemon juice
  4. Cinnamon stick and orange, for garnish

 Pumpkin Spice Syrup:

  1. 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  2. 1/2 cup Bourbon Barrel-Aged  Syrup 
  3. 1/2 cup water
  4. 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

Preparation Note: pumpkin mixture can be store in the refrigerator for up to one week!

How To Prepare


Add pumpkin puree, syrup, water and spice to a small saucepan bring mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly. Once boiling and smooth, remove from heat and cover.


Strain pumpkin mixture into an airtight container and let cool completely.


Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add bourbon, pumpkin spice syrup and lemon juice. Shake vigorously and strain into a glass over ice. Garnish with cinnamon stick and orange twist and enjoy!
