October brings the promise of cooler weather, beautiful foliage and crisp evenings, which to us means it is absolutely perfect bourbon drinking weather. Our cocktail of the month is the ‘can’t go wrong’ Old Fashioned. Simple, straightforward, and classic, the Old Fashioned is the perfect way to kick-off Fall. Pairs well with a cigar, a tail-gate or any of your favorite fall activities. For a special flavor twist, our master mixologist Kyle Higgins crafts our Old Fashioned with our Pappy Aged Maple Syrup, and really, what could be more Fall than that! Maple Old Fashioned
-2oz. Good bourbon (Old Rip VW 10 Yr if we had it. So we use Buffalo Trace a lot)
-2 Dashes Angostura Bitters
-1/4oz. Pappy Barrel Aged Maple Syrup
Gently stir with ice and pour back over ice in an old fashioned glass, garnish with orange peel and oil expression if you have it. (In this photo, we used a Cranberry Hibiscus leaf for an extra fall garnish)
