Spring is synonymous with celebrating! It is a season that welcomes warm weather, invites us to get outside and is full of reasons to have seasonal sips at the ready!
In the simplest of terms, spring is the season of change and rebirth, an actual transformation as flowers bloom and temperatures rise and the sounds of birds chirping and children playing in the street fill the air. We can't help but get excited and that means whipping up a new batch of cocktails ready for everything from Mother's Day brunch to spontaneous outdoor happy hours.
It just so happens our new Pappy Van Winkle Kentucky Sour Cocktail Mixer, boasting smoked wildflower honey and tart citrus, is the perfectly versatile accompaniment to a variety of fun new cocktails bursting with luscious spring flavor. A Passionfruit Margarita updates the traditional flavors of our one our all time favorite cocktails, the Pisco Sour gets a smokey makeover, and brunch's best friend, the Bellini, gets a dose of our Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel-Aged Pure Maple Syrup.
While we won't turn down a margarita in any season, it really shines in the warmer months when the traditionally refreshing flavors hit the right note. Our updated Passionfruit Margarita gets a twist on the signature features of a margarita with a burst of juicy passionfruit and our Kentucky Sour Mixer for a spring cocktail infused with the subtle notes of honey smoked over Pappy Van Winkle barrel staves balanced with citrus, and the tropical essence of passionfruit puree.
We've taken the traditional Pisco Sour, the national cocktail of Peru, that combines Peruvian Pisco with lime juice and a frothy egg white, and given it a boost. The sweet and smoky flavor of our Pappy Van Winkle Kentucky Sour Cocktail Mixer adds the just right flavor balance to Pisco and lime juice for a refreshingly tart and subtly sweet cocktail you will want to enjoy all spring long!
A Bellini is pretty much a staple at every brunch table, and for good reason. Our Passionfruit Bellini brings a tropical and fruity take with a dash of Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel Aged Maple Syrup that highlights and enhances the natural sweetness of passionfruit with the essence of barrel-aged oaky, vanilla flavor.

2 ounces Passion Fruit Puree
1 ounce lime juice
1 ½ ounces Smoked Kentucky Sour Cocktail Mixer
3 ounces Reposado tequila
1 ounce Cointreau
Pinch of Kosher salt
Optional Garnish: lime wedge
Pappy's Pisco Sour
Ingredients for this Recipe:
3 ounces pisco
1 ounce fresh lime juice
1 ounce Smoked Kentucky Sour Cocktail Mixer
1 egg white
Optional garnish: lime wheel
Passionfruit Bellini
Ingredients for this Recipe:
2 ounces Passion Fruit Puree
1 Tablespoon Pappy Van Winkle Barrel-Aged Maple Syrup
3 ½ ounces Cava, chilled
Optional Garnish: Fresh Mint
In a large pitcher stir together passion fruit puree, lime juice, Smoked Kentucky Sour Cocktail Mixer, tequila, Cointreau and salt.
Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Either pour over ice directly into Signature Keys Double Old Fashioned Cocktail Glasses or shake with ice in a cocktail shaker before pouring over ice.
Add pisco, lime juice, Smoked Kentucky Sour Cocktail Mixer and egg white into a shaker over ice until frothy and cold.
Strain into a chilled Signature Keys Nick and Nora Cocktail Glass.
Garnish with a lime wheel and enjoy.
Pour Passion Fruit Puree and Barrel-Aged Maple Syrup into our Signature Keys Coupe Cocktail Glasses.
Stir to combine.
