Growing up, waffles trumped pancakes at our house. When it came time to serve the plates, our mom always poured pure maple syrup instead of the artificial stuff. It was a beloved household staple and a natural fit when we first introduced pantry items to the Pappy & Company line-up. This extra-special maple syrup is produced by our friends at Bissell Maple Farm in Jefferson, Ohio. These sugar-makers collect the Pappy Van Winkle bourbon barrels immediately after they are dumped for bottling at the distillery, add the pure maple syrup and wait for the rich flavors of vanilla, caramel, butter and oak to build. This slow process is why we were recognized in 2020 as a Good Foods Awards Winner and the reason we know the importance of crafting a quality maple syrup.
