HOT, SPICED BLOODY MARY COCKTAILS
Start your next summer picnic or event with a refreshing take on the traditional bloody mary cocktail. Garnished with candied bacon, these Pappy Mary drinks with spicy Pappy Bourbon Barrel-aged Pepper Sauce are sure to get the party hopping.

HOT DAYS CALL FOR SIPS WITH SPICE
Serves 6 to 8
Ingredients
- 2 large celery stalks, roughly chopped
- 1/4 cup of sweet onion, roughly chopped
- Juice from 2 lemons
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons prepared horseradish
- 1 tablespoon Pappy & Company Barrel-aged Pepper Sauce (or more to taste)
- 4 cups tomato juice, or your favorite Bloody Mary mix
- 1 teaspoon celery salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- Celery stalks for garnish
- Hot candied bacon for garnish (recipe to follow)
- 8 shots vodka (optional)
Directions
- In the bowl of a food processor, combine celery, onion, lemon juice, horseradish and pepper sauce. Pulse until finely chopped.
- In a large pitcher, combine celery mixture, tomato juice and vodka, if desired. Season with celery salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- Served chilled over ice. Garnish with celery stalks, hot candied bacon and additional Pappy & Company Barrel-Aged Pepper Sauce.

HOT CANDIED BACON
Ingredients
- 8-ounce package bacon
- 1/4 cup Pappy & Company Barrel-Aged Pepper Sauce
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- Freshly ground black pepper
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- Line a baking sheet pan with parchment paper.
- Place the bacon on a wire rack on the parchment-lined baking sheet, brush the top of the bacon with pepper sauce and sprinkle with brown sugar.
- Bake for 15 minutes, and flip the bacon. Brush the other side with pepper sauce and sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake for an additional 15 minutes or until it reaches desired level of crispiness.
- Remove baking sheet from oven, and allow the bacon to cool slightly. While still warm, carefully thread bacon slices onto wooden skewers. Serve alongside a cold Pappy Mary.
