Father's Day Maple Bacon Brunch

What better way to celebrate Father’s Day than having Bacon French Toast for breakfast? This delicious recipe will make any dad feel special, and the family will enjoy it too. Topped with our Pappy Van Winkle 23-Year Bourbon Barrel Aged Pure Maple Syrup, and The Baconer’s XXL Maple Sugar Bacon Steaks, you will wish that it was Father’s Day, everyday.      

French Toast With Bacon and Pappy & Co. 23 Year Maple Syrup  Pappy & Co. 23 year Barrel Aged Maple Syrup

 

Ingredients for the french toast:

  • 1 pound of brioche loaf, cut into 1" - 2" slices
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups of half & half
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel Aged Pure Maple Syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper 

Ingredients for the topping:

Pappy & Co. 23 year Bourbon Barrel Aged Pure Maple Syrup on top of plates.   Baconer XXL Maple Sugar Bacon Steaks          

 

Instructions:

  • Grease a 13" x 9 " baking dish
  • In a large bowl whisk the eggs
  • Continue to whisk eggs while adding in half & half, milk, sugars, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and cayenne pepper
  • Submerge each bread slice in the egg mixture, then arrange in baking dish
  • Pour the remaining egg mixture over top and cover
  • Place in the refrigerator overnight
  • 30 minutes before baking remove the dish from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature
  • Preheat over to 375 degrees Fahrenheit  
  • Cut XXL Bacon Steaks into 1/4" pieces and fry in a skillet until almost done 
  • For the topping combine melted butter, brown sugar, pecans, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves in a small bowl 
  • Spread the topping over the bread, then sprinkle with bacon
  • Place in the oven and bake for 40 mins or until golden brown
  • Serve with Pappy & Co. 23-year Bourbon Aged Maple Syrup
