It can sometimes feel like we are making it to the finish line as we barrel through a busy holiday season. As a small business, it is undoubtedly the most hectic time of year. That means a bustling warehouse, tight shipping deadlines, and an all-hands-on-deck team approach.
Yet what each Pappy & Company box, carefully packed, wrapped, and stacked (and checked twice, just like the big guy says), represents to us is that we get to be part of your holiday celebrations in some way, however small. Whether we are wrapped up under the tree as a surprise, shared as a thoughtful hostess gift, or sipped, smoked, or savored during a festive celebration, that moment of shared joy is always our favorite gift during the holiday season - and all year long.
Sharing our heritage of hospitality, our love for entertaining, and the Pappy Van Winkle-inspired passion behind our Pappy & Company collectionsis never more relevant than during this time of year. We are honored to be a part of your holiday season, whether through a shared tradition, the beginning of a new one, or simply through the spirit of gathering and gifting. This has always been the most thrilling and personal element of running Pappy & Company for the past twelve years.
Naturally, as reflected in our Pappy & Company products, we love entertaining, hosting, gifting, and enjoying the festivities, the food, the drinks, and the treats that are the essentials of the holiday season. It also means we get to hit pause and enjoy the time with our own families and traditions as we take an extended break. We will close our office, computers, and warehouse until after New Year’s Day to allow our team some much-deserved time to relax and delight in the best of the season.

Brought to the Bar: In the works for a very long time, we finally introduced the long-awaited additions to our collection of Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel-Aged Craft Cocktail Mixers! Just as with our original Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel-Aged Old Fashioned Mixer and our Kentucky Sour Mixer, we collaborated with our long-time partners, Bittermilk, from Charleston, SC. After an extensive years-long development process to ensure they were just right, we happily brought them to your bar (not that we didn’t enjoy the quality-control taste testing)!
Our Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel-Aged Espresso Elixir pairs our bold, rich Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel-Aged espresso with layers of velvety smooth, subtly sweet demerara sugar, burnt sugar, and chocolate for a creamy, dreamy, frothy Espresso Martini. The unlimited versatility of this decadent espresso elixiroffers options for an Espresso Martini mocktail, cold brew, Espresso Old Fashioned, and even a Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini(this list is nearly as long as Santa’s).
Our Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel-Aged Bloody Mary Mixgives the signature brunch staple, the Bloody Mary, a boost of subtly sweet-and-spicy heat from our barrel-aged ghost peppers. The same Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel-Aged ghost peppers responsible for our original Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel-Aged Pepper Sauce deliver iconic flavor to a delicious and customizable Bloody Mary, Bloody Maria, NA Bloody Mary, or Michelada, with classic, savory notes and a hint of charred-oak sweetness.
Bourbon Barrels Reimagined: Since the very beginningof Pappy & Company, over 12 years ago, back in our basementdays, we have had an idea we have returned to time and again. A way to more fully expand upon our original goal of sharing what still remains inside the barrels once they no longer hold our family’s iconic bourbon within their walls. One that wholly encompassed our passion for sustainability, creativity, and craftsmanship. The idea for an in-house woodshop entirely dedicated to repurposing our retired Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon barrels.
It was a big job, one that required just the right partner, the right space, and the right time.
Fortunately, 2025 brought us that opportunity. We launched our Pappy & Company Woodshop with longtime partner and renowned barrel artisan, Jason Cohen. Having Jason join our team and bring his skill, artistry, and vision to the Woodshop was the most exciting development to come to fruition. We have introduced a few pieces, hand-made from genuine Pappy Van Winkle bourbon barrels, as unique accessories and furniture that highlight the inherent beauty and legacy that remain, and we can’t wait to introduce more of our bourbon barrels reimagined in our Woodshop collection in 2026. Our legacy, repurposed.
Discover furniture and accessories, such as a charmingly rustic art-deco style Staveburst mirror, designed with a gorgeous array of staggered barrel staves to resemble rays of Kentucky sunshine whose warmth slowly develops the character of bourbon through its years of aging. Or smaller accessories, such as Barrel Stave ashtrays, vases, and kitchenand bar tools, each with unique and refined touches of bourbon history and elevated and sophisticated style inspired by the bourbon barrels themselves and Pappy Van Winkle’s own legendary hospitality.
A sweet tradition continues with a new partner:One of our most iconic and original products, a delicious piece of Kentucky tradition and history, our Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Balls, got a new partner. When our friend and original partner, Maggie from Sugar Mamas Bakeshop, decided to take her well-deserved retirement, we went in search of the right bakery to carry on this legacy. Fortunately, we didn’t have to look very far. We met Lindsay, who owns and runs The Whisk House, and we knew her single-minded passion, artistry, and dedication were just the right ingredients for a sweet partnership. These little bites of bourbon, chocolate, and pecan bliss remain a holiday and year-round favorite.
New to our Shelves: While our product development process is intentionally slow and measured, we did add a few new products to our collections in 2025, in collaboration with some familiar partners. Our Barrel Stave Oyster Shucker, hand-made by our friend and collaborator, Middleton Made Knives, is a nod to our Charleston, SC ties and a love for tradition. Featuring a barrel-crafted handleand ergonomic design to encourage the ritual of the famous Low Country oyster roast.
We introduced an elevated, functional leather-wrapped glass flaskand a sophisticated Pappy Van Winkle leather-embossed key fob from our frequent partner, Clayton & Crume, with touches of southern-inspired style and signature Pappy Van Winkle hospitality. Our Bourbon & Beyondline-up this year featured thoughtful gear and accessories designed to help you enjoy the best of music, bourbon, and food festivals, like Bourbon & Beyond, in comfort and festival-inspired flair.

Pappy hit the road: We had another busy year for events. We’ve attended Bourbon & Beyondsince it was founded in 2017. One of our favorite events of the year, Bourbon & Beyond, celebrates the connection between music, bourbon, food, and cigars, otherwise known as a few of our favorite things, in our own backyard, no less. We enjoyed sharing our Pappy Van Winkle signature cigars and festival offerings over four fun-filled days of great music, incredible food, and a fantastic crowd. We even got to take part in a panel with Chef Anthony Lamas of Seviche, one of our favorite Louisville restaurants, to unlock the flavor still hidden within our retired Pappy Van Winkle bourbon barrels. We can’t wait for Bourbon & Beyond2026!
We also attended High Point Furniture Market for the second time, this time with our new furniture and accessories from the Woodshop. We felt incredibly welcomed by the amazing and passionate community of designers, makers, and crafters that High Pointfosters, and loved being in the creative 313 Space this year. We are busy planning our trip to the High Point Spring Market and hope to see you there!
Bourbon for Good™, for Always: We carried on Pappy Van Winkle’s legacy of philanthropy through our Bourbon for Good™Mission. Undoubtedly, one of the elements of running Pappy & Company that we are most proud of and grateful for is Bourbon for Good™, which allows us to make an impact on our community. Thank you for believing in our Bourbon for Good™Mission and for being a part of something bigger than all of us.
In 2025, with your support of our Bourbon for Good™Sweepstakes, we were able to support causes that focused on veterans' mental health, combating food insecurity and hunger, supporting food and beverage workers, and assisting with the devastating effects of the 2025 wildfires. Please take a moment to learn more about these amazing organizations, and come back in 2026 to support our four annual Bourbon for Good™Sweepstakes and nonprofits doing critical and necessary work here in our home state of Kentucky and beyond.
