Distilled: Super Bowl Recipe Roundup

Celebrate Football’s Biggest Night With Barrel-Aged Flavor!
Our guide to enjoying Football’s biggest night. There is no arguing that the Super Bowl is an entertainment bonanza.  Whether you are there for the game, the commercials, the performances, or let's be honest…the food - we've got a comprehensive guide to what you need to make the most of it!

Set the stage to watch the the Kansas City Chiefs attempt to cement their place in Super Bowl history with a back-to-back win against the San Francisco 49ers during Super Bowl LVII in Las Vegas. Of course, settle in for some of the best Super Bowl commercials (or at least the most expensive ones) and gear up to watch Usher rock his greatest hits during the Apple Music Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show. Take a front row seat for for Country Music’s Hall of Famer Reba McEntire to belt out what is sure to be an unforgettable version of the National Anthem, what we are sure will be an interesting rendition of America the Beautiful by Post Malone and Andra Day’s sure to be gorgeous rendition of “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” Oh yeah and there will be some football too.

Maybe you are Swiftie tuning into your first Super Bowl (no dads, brads or chads here…we are equal opportunity football and Taylor Swift fans here), or you just want to see David Beckham and Victoria Beckham join Jennifer Aniston in an Uber Eats commercial, or you really want to see if Travis Kelce takes the top spot as the Best Tight End in football history against his counterpart with the flowing locks, George Kittle. Maybe  you want to see Patrick Mahomes cement his place alongside the legendary quarterback GOATS, or you love the story of a former QB3 in Brock Purdy  taking the literal top spot on football's biggest stage.  Maybe you want to see who Usher surprises us with during the half-time show. Or maybe, you are just here for the fun of it all, and for many of us, that fun comes in the form of food and drinks, and as we say, there is no shame in that!

So, for the sake of this conversation let’s dig into what we love best about a game that embraces pure entertainment and celebrate with what we do and love the best: good food, good drinks and good company!

The Food: oh how we love football food, and we aren't alone. There is a reason the Super Bowl is considered America's "#2 Food Holiday," (second only to Thanksgiving, how's that for culinary competition). On Super Bowl night we apparently consume 1.25 billion chicken wings and 11.4 million pounds of chips!   Super Bowl centers around easy, shareable food that large crowds can enjoy, so for the big night we rely on our Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel-Aged Favorites:

The Flavors:

Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel Aged Pepper Sauce - the subtly sweet heat of Georgia grown Ghost Peppers, aged in Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrels and infused with signature oaky, smoky rich heat is a perfect addition to a Super Bowl Menu. Think hot chicken wings, chili, Bloody Mary's, or just toss it on anything that needs an extra kick...we certainly do!

Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel-Aged Pure Maple Syrup & Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel-Aged Spicy Syrup

Add a surprising flavor twist to any marinade, craft cocktail or appetizer with the signature flavor of our two syrups - the classic, with the rich, buttery flavor of pure maple syrup highlighted by the iconic flavors of our Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon and the notes of vanilla, oak and charred sweetness. Red-Eye Chili

White Chicken Chili

Well, Super Bowl Sunday does call for a few certains. Someone at the party will ask what a field goal is, or what the penalty call for holding means. Someone will shush you during the commercials and someone else will google "who is Usher?" There will be debates over who is the GOAT and what it means to define a Super Bowl legacy. Swifties will debate whether or not Taylor will make it. The other certainty, there will be meat. Grilled preferably, and a massive amount of chicken wings will be served. If you want to ensure you are invited back next year, or your goal is to host the most flavorful Super Bowl Fiesta on the block - then these are the recipes full of signature Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel-Aged flavor for you:

This one happens to be as easy as whether or not to go for it on a 4th down (just kidding, it is way, way easier than that - we don't envy watching Coach Reid or Coach Shanahan make that call). Heading to a Super Bowl party and don't know what to bring? Hosting a Super Bowl party and don't want to spend extra hours baking? The solution is the same.
